What is Hemp Oil?
You create hemp oil by pressing the seeds of the hemp plant, also known as Cannabis sativa. It is used in the production of both beauty products and foodstuffs, thanks to hemp oil being rich in omega-3 fatty acids. These acids have been found to help lower blood pressure and to prevent acne and wrinkles.
You can use hemp oil externally or orally, with manufacturers producing a range of products for a variety of different uses. Unrefined hemp oil can range from dark to light green in colour with a nutty flavour, while refined hemp oil is clear with very little flavour.
What is CBD Oil (Also known as Cannabidiol Oil)?
CBD oil, or cannabidiol oil as it is otherwise known, is a natural remedy that many people use to relieve pain and reduce anxiety amongst a multitude of other reasons. You extract the CBD from the cannabis plant and add it to MCT oil, hemp seed oil or coconut oil in order to create a range of different CBD products.
The CBD in the oil is a non-intoxicating phytocannabinoid that can be added to food, used as a body oil, included as an ingredient to a bath bomb or even infused into a pillow in some cases.
Is Hemp CBD Oil Safe?
Hemp CBD oil is safe to use as a food supplement when taken as part of a healthy and balanced diet. It is non-addictive and does not cause intoxication, making it also suitable and safe for use in external products such as body oils and sprays.
As with any supplement you choose to add into your diet, you are advised to ask your GP or other healthcare professional about whether it is appropriate for your particular situation.
Are there age restrictions on Hemp CBD Oil?
There are currently no age restrictions for buying hemp CBD oil. However, many companies choose to only sell their CBD oil products to the over 18s or, in some cases, the over 21s. Because the World Health Organization has ruled that it is not addictive and it is not a controlled drug in the UK, there is no official ruling on the age at which you can buy CBD oil. The Trades Association does suggest to retailers not to allow under 18s to purchase the products, though.
What is Zero THC CBD Oil?
Zero THC CBD oil, or THC-free CBD oil, contains no Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), or at least levels of THC that are so miniscule they cannot be detected in tests of the product. Regular CBD oil can contain up to 0.2% THC in the UK, but for customers who would rather avoid THC altogether, Zero THC CBD oil is a great solution.
THC is the chemical that produces the psychoactive effects when people smoke cannabis, for example, and although 0.2% (two parts of every thousand) THC content in your CBD oil is completely safe, THC-free CBD oil gives users even more peace of mind if they require it.
What is natural full spectrum CBD oil?
Natural full spectrum CBD oil is created using 100% naturally occurring chemicals in the cannabis plant, which are known as cannabinoids. These oils usually feature high levels of CBD and low levels of THC, and it is believed that they are more effective than other forms of CBD because the broad range of natural cannabinoids in the natural full spectrum CBD oil complement each other and work together in what is sometimes referred to as the ‘entourage effect’.
What are the different CBD Oil Strengths?
The different CBD oil strengths refer to the concentration of CBD in the product. You can often find the measurement as a weight, as a percentage, or both. For example, our 5% natural full spectrum CBD oil contains 500mg of CBD and CBDA, while the 10% version contains 1,000mg of CBD and CBDA.
A higher CBD oil strength will have a greater effect on you, but it is recommended that those who are new to CBD oil begin with a lower oil strength and work their way up if they wish.
What is the difference between CBD Oil and Hemp Oil?
CBD oil differs from hemp oil in the fact that CBD oil uses the whole plant in its manufacture, whereas hemp oil comes from the seeds alone. Hemp oil does not contain the cannabinoids such as CBD that many people credit with helping their anxiety and curbing inflammation amongst other effects. Hemp oil is basically a superfood or effective moisturiser, but nothing more.
CBD oil and hemp oil are manufactured in different ways, too. Hemp oil comes from a cold press extraction, whereas the process to extract CBD oil involves CO2 or solvents. In addition, CBD is mixed with a carrier oil, such as MCT oil, before it hits the shelves.
Is Hemp CBD Oil legal?
Hemp CBD oil is legal, as long as it contains less that 0.2% THC. Although many people confuse it with marijuana, which remains a Class B controlled drug in the UK, hemp CBD oil is a very different proposition. It does not contain large quantities of THC, the chemical that produces the psychoactive effects in majuana, meaning that it does not need to be classed as a controlled substance.
This means that it is available to buy online and in stores across the UK, US and many other countries around the world.
